Rest in Peace, Sweet Buddy Boy

Our Sweet Buddy Boy died in his sleep. He was not with us long enough. He was an absolute sweetheart of a cat, his "purring motor" ran nearly non-stop it seemed. He was really the kids' cat, whenever one of them was crying or upset, he would cuddle up to them. Whenever they went away for a weekend camping trip, he missed them terribly, making due with cuddles from Glenn and I until his favorite people came back. We will miss him terribly, and keep the good memories close to our hearts.

We love You, Buddy.

October Snow

Why boredom is not a bad thing...

Little Zorro, armed only with his imagination, some unstructured time, and my pincushion, created this:

Seriously, we don't need to fill up every second of our kids' days with activities - they need time to, well, goof-off. Goofing off time is *essential* to creativity!

I think it's safe to say that this year's camping days:

Letterboxing Again!

So, after we made treasure boxes on Talk Like a Pirate Day, we headed up to Red Hill at ISU to find a letter box. (Because what better way to celebrate Pirate day than searching for treasure? ;)) I snapped this cute pic of Bannanarama as she found the letterbox:

And this view of the campus and town. Reminds me of the little city you see at the beginning of Mr. Rogers!

We've got Autumn color happening all over the place, but back on Sep. 19, I noticed just this little first beginning of Fall:

Pirate Flags!

Made these super-simple little pirate flags for Talk Like a Pirate day!

(Glued a square of felt to a dowel, then painted on the skull and crossbones with acrylic paint.)

Bannanarama made this treasure box:

She used sand and Tempera paint to get that nice textured look - it's very cool!

Dancing in the Water!

Part of the "CoExhibit 2008" program at ISU (A project created by one of the presidential interns) Dance Improvisation on the stepsiof the Stephens Performing Arts Center before Theatre ISU's performance of Urinetown.

Zorro and Bannanarama came with me, and Bannanarama took some pics and video for me.
